Hanworth Air Park was built right next to a grand old house, Hanworth Park House (HPH). After the war HPH became a hotel and being so close to the Aston Martin Lagonda premises became quite useful to the company, including acting as a back-drop for publicity photos.
HPH has been derelict for many years, but there is now a group of local conservationists working together to try and save the house from demolition, with an idea to turn it into a mixture of housing and community uses including a small museum. The group are called the Friends of Hanworth Park House and they have already made a good start with fundraising, lottery assistance etc.
As part of the fundraising activity they are holding a small cars show at the house in September which we would invite people to come along to support the Friends of Hanworth Park. There should be some wonderful cars on display.
