Trainee Engine Builder - HWM Sports Cars

HWM is seeking to recruit an exceptional individual to support our new engine building programme.

The Role

This is an incredible opportunity to specialise in Aston Martin engine building, being trained by a leader with a staggering wealth of knowledge.Based at our Hersham workshop, you will be trained to be a master engine builder and will be given the chance to be involved in a fantastic array of projects, including power upgrades, race engines and building engines for some extremely rare and valuable cars.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the assembly of high-performance engines under the guidance of our senior engineer.
  • Prepare and clean engine components prior to assembly, ensuring parts meet required standards.
  • Assist in the accurate measurement and fitting of engine parts using appropriate tools.
  • Follow detailed build instructions and technical documentation with close attention to quality.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment at all times.
  • Document work completed and support quality control procedures throughout the build process.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Basic mechanical knowledge, ideally gained through an apprenticeship, vocational training, or hands-on experience.
  • Keen interest in high-performance automotive engineering and engine mechanics.
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn from experienced team members.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, measuring instruments, and workshop safety practices.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently.
  • Reliable, enthusiastic, and proactive with a strong work ethic and team-focused attitude.
