HWM Engine Builder

Due to continued expansion, HWM is looking to recruit an exceptional individual to support our engine building programme.

The Role

This is a rare opportunity to specialise in Aston Martin engine building within one of the most respected names in the automotive industry. Based at our Hersham workshop, you will work alongside and be trained by a highly experienced master engine builder with an extraordinary depth of knowledge. You will develop the skills required to become a specialist engine builder, working on an exciting variety of projects including power upgrades, race engines, restorations, and engines for some of the world’s rarest and most valuable vehicles — not limited solely to Aston Martin.

Responsibilities

• Support the assembly of high-performance engines under the guidance of our senior engineer
• Prepare and clean engine components prior to assembly, ensuring all parts meet required standards
• Assist with the accurate measurement and fitting of engine components using appropriate tools and equipment
• Follow detailed build instructions and technical documentation with exceptional attention to quality
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
• Document completed work and support quality control procedures throughout the build process

Required Skills and Experience

• Solid mechanical knowledge and practical workshop experience; ideally, you will be a fully qualified vehicle technician
• A genuine passion for high-performance automotive engineering and engine mechanics
• Strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn from experienced colleagues
• Familiarity with hand tools, measuring equipment, and workshop safety procedures
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and consistently
• Reliable, enthusiastic, and proactive, with a strong work ethic and team-oriented attitude
